Detailed eligibility criteria

This page provides full details on how Eiro Engage determines eligibility from your linked health record. We want to be transparent about exactly what we look for and why.

Overview

When you connect your health record through Eiro Engage, we look for two things: an active depression diagnosis and current depression treatment. Both must be present in your record to unlock the full compensation track.

We identify these using standard medical codes (ICD-10, RxNorm, CPT, SNOMED) from clinical records accessed through Apple HealthKit. We do not make diagnostic assessments — we read what your healthcare providers have already documented.

Requirements at a glance

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Residing in the United States (excluding WA, NV, MD)
  • A depression diagnosis in your health record (ICD-10 codes F32.x or F33.x)
  • At least one active depression treatment in your health record (see below)
  • Health record linked via Apple HealthKit

Important

Eligibility is determined automatically from your linked health record. If you are currently receiving treatment for depression but it does not appear in your record (for example, if you pay out-of-pocket for therapy and it isn't billed through insurance), it may not be detected. If you believe your record is incomplete, contact us and we'll work with you.

How health record linking works

Eiro Engage accesses your health record through Apple HealthKit's clinical records feature. This means your healthcare provider must support health record sharing through the Apple Health app on your iPhone. Most major health systems in the United States support this.

When you link your record, we access only the specific clinical data types needed for eligibility and research: medication records, procedure records, and condition records. We do not access your full medical history, lab results, vitals, or other health data unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Privacy note

All data accessed from your health record is de-identified before entering our research systems. Your name, date of birth, and other personal identifiers are stripped. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. You can review exactly what data has been shared and withdraw at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
